Homeschooling the Little Eagles

I took this photo back in May while the children were pouring over my purchases from the big homeschool convention here in my part of Texas. Puddleglum (littlest guy, second from left) seems to have been the happiest about the books he got.

Ever Heard Of Uncle Eric?

Nope, he's not MY uncle, nor is he Eaglewood's uncle. Uncle Eric is a fictional uncle in the series of Bluestocking Press books we have been enjoying this year. I bought "Whatever Happened to Penny Candy?" and "Whatever Happened to Justice?" just after the homeschool convention earlier this year. Ditto absolutely devoured them and is now looking for more books from that series. Having now read the books, I have to admit that they are some of the better homeschooling resources we have invested in! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Ever Want to be a Superhero?

http://www.ugo.com/channels/comics/heromachine2/heromachine2.asp

My eldest son got me hooked on playing with the Superhero generator at this site... Now I'm wondering if I am the only adult who actually enjoys this stuff? ;o)

I'm Getting Used to it....

You Are 72% Healthy

Your diet is quite healthy, but you don't too crazy with what you eat.
You know how to eat what's good for you, but you're also careful not to deprive yourself.
How Healthy Is Your Diet?

As a matter of fact, I can't stand my old favorites foods anymore. :o( However, I have lost 65lbs.

Hellooooo??? Anyone still here?

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in awhile. Frankly, I needed to just take some time off to grieve, to reconnect with my family, and to reconnect with G_d. If you are still here, I can only admire your perseverance. ;o)

We are still homeschooling. This year has gotten off to a pretty good start. Ditto is now in senior high, Pookie is doing the whole, middle school/ junior high thing, and Sneefurt is doing great in grade school. Technically, Puddleglum is in kindergarten, but neither of us is taking it too seriously. We do stuff when he feels like it. When he doesn't feel like doing school stuff, we just do something else! Puddleglum is learning... He is just doing it on his own schedule.

I've been doing boring house-wifey stuff these days. I have repainted most of a very old chest-of-drawers. I can't quite finish it just now, however, as I ran out of paint! What I did paint looks great (you will just have to trust me here!). I have also done some crocheting, some Spring cleaning, and organized some closets. I won't bore you with any details, I promise!
